You complain when Garofalo makes the sign of a Nazi but when Coulter talks like one, you think its a good thing?

Thanks for that. So now we have a country that increases its military expenditures by fourfold in one year. From $47 billion to $225 billion. Pay no attention to the ballistic missile behind the curtain. I am the Great OZ.

The Chinese case is unique. There are many Chinese military owned businesses which generate large profits. I believe the cell phone company is one of those.

Huh? So what? There are many American defense companies that also produce consumer goods. What does that have to do with what the gov't is spending or the amount?

Do you really not understand this? Ok in simple terms. I run a business and I take in $50 billion in revenue. My costs are $40 billion. The $10 billion profit is transferred to my owners, the Chinese military. Since the government did not spend budget dollars on the $10 billion in nuclear warheads it is not included in the CDI figure for military expenditures.

General Dynamics makes propane tanks for buses. This is not invested in new tanks for Marine Company A.

So are the figures government funding, or total expenditures? Have their expenditures increased since 2001? I suspect that $225 billion is much closer to expenditures that $47 billion your source lists. You might not choose to believe the $322 billion, but if it is right and you are saying they are not a threat, we are setting our nation up for a huge mess.

What does it matter? We are talking only a 2-3 year difference from today. Do you think that the Chinese jumped up spending from $65 billion to $400 billion in three years?

I suspect the CIA figure is more likely to include the military procurement from profits in other business ventures. I suspect that the CDI figure doesn't include any of that. Perhaps the CIA figure of nearly $400 billion is inflated. What if it is correct and the CDI figure is totally wrong?

Because Jordon is not an upstart........he has established credibility over years of working in the journalist field. He was willing to jeopardize his job and fall on the sword over what he believes is the truth.

Compare that to a Jeff Gannon..........a man with an alias, a would be journalist who also poses as an escort, and an operator of porn on the Web........who easily got a press pass to the WH.

And yet you see no difference. I am starting not to trust you. You say you believe in certain values but it seems that when those values are in play depends on the subject and the characters involved.

Ted: Eason Jordan built up credibility by helping lure people to their deaths. He was the bag man for the sons of a brutal dictator. If this is the type of credibility you value then you are correct to think we have totally different value systems. I find everything Jordan stands for to be disgusting. And the fact that it took yet another lie at a round table discussion to expose what was already known about him is indicative of the lack of respectability that CNN has.

Gannon was sent up by an employer. In the game, the employer was primarily responsible for checking the identity and history of their reporters. Perhaps Talon should have done a better job. If you can tell me that he rode on Air Force One then I will be upset. That would be a total breakdown of security protocol by the Secret Service. (The security breach would be similar to the Clinton order to make temporary White House passes look more like permanent ones because their staff would not submit to FBI security clearance investigations.)

So what is the sudden concern about homosexuals? It is instructive that when one benefited you are concerned. Doggon it, I caught you in hypocrisy again. Sorry.

You, like many of your colleagues, are suggesting the sky is purple when the rest of us know its blue.

I just call them the way they are. If Democrats want unity, send Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman as spokespersons. It would be better for America if they keep Harry Reid, Teddy Kennedy and Nancy Pelosi as spokespersons. Their bile is offensive to most Americans.

It is interesting to witness a self proclaimed leftwinger proclaiming to know what moderates are thinking and opine about the accuracy of their perceptions. ROTFHWL

"McCain is a liberal. Rush Limbaugh is much closer to the heart of the Republican party than left of center John McCain. Pat Buchanan is a left-winger on the issue of freedom for the rest of the world."
