As for "the nations attention" to a large extent it still hasn't and maybe never will reach the nations attention unless it gets a lot more blatent. I'm not sure its "creeping corruption" because I'm not sure it has really gotten worse recently. Maybe creeping at a very slow rate (getting worse over the last couple of generations) and once again the creeping political influence isn't just from the white house, or conservatives or business. What would it take to convince you that its gotten worse? Certainly, the behavior of scientists over the past three years suggests it has. ted
