Its possible that one side or the other could be a greater amount but they are close to equal when interest is considered. Absent considerations of interest the government would save money under this plan so its hardly "$4trillion + interest), more like some single digit percentage of $4tril. one way or the other.

Nobody, and I mean nobody is buying this argument on private accounts. It's real debt and real interest, and the presumptions about 50 years from now are just presumptions. In addition it doesn't solve the probem of funding SS.

We can't afford it, we're in hock over our heads, much of it to our "enemies". Get the rest of the budget in balance, and the partial private accounts may make sense.
