JF Nobody, and I mean nobody is buying this argument on private accounts. It's real debt and real interest, and the presumptions about 50 years from now are just presumptions. In addition it doesn't solve the probem of funding SS. We can't afford it, we're in hock over our heads, much of it to our "enemies". Get the rest of the budget in balance, and the partial private accounts may make sense. This is progress. Only months ago you were claiming there WAS NO PROBLEM funding SS. If nothing else, Bush has raised YOUR awareness, even if only a little. With a little more effort and Bush's continued support for reform, you may, at some point, actually know something about the subject.
