There are exceptions to everything, but I know that after every cruise I've taken the septic and garbage trucks pull up immediately upon docking. I assume they are there to take away the refuse. I will make a point of asking the captain of the ship on my next cruise his opinion and ask him to comment about dumping at sea.

best fishing for flounder was in boston harbor by the sewer outflow. flounder being a bottom fish years ago fisherman wouldn't touch flounder. but then haddock disappeared.

i believe they also didn't take in any cod as it was usually carried worms... and they had a hard time selling it.

just check the prices of flounder and cod today.. wow. funny how old timers felt about various things.
