Slider,
Welcome to the Valley of Death's Shadow chapter of the Knife Catchers, where mo-mo players fear to tread, where stock holders are full of dread and only the most skilled can expertly catch the sharp blades that others shed.

Now I have to decide if Drooy is a powerfully thrown Battle Axe or a casually tossed stiletto...

Best Regards,
Roebear

Different animals, but MNG declined for quite a bit and it also looked like BK was possible when mine permit for Hope Bay was shut down. Similar spike down, but with retest a few months later.

In this market would rather not risk it, but does seem like there's a good chance for a trade back to 1.15 to 1.2 again assuming Rand/gold price does fall too much further. However, given the damage done I'd rather wait for partial or a few retest of the lows a few weeks/months later. There are going to be quite a few traders looking to get out even in the 1.2 to 1.4 range. Only nimble traders need apply. I'm not one of them.

My main concern at this point with PMs is that the gen markets get wacked taking base metals, oil and gold down with them. If it's a slow bleed gold should do fine, but with all the carry trades there's more risk than usual. Hold about 40% PMs here in general, about 4% PFE (LT only, sold ST already) and the rest cash.

Give me your weak, your tired, your huddled masses, your DROOY...

...yeah as I walk into the Valley of the Shadow of Death - into the darkness of South African Golds; into the abyss, into the fear of going concern - aka DROOY:

- I buy.

Nicely put! It felt like stepping into the deep underground mines of DRD without any lights when I doubled up at 80 cents! Now, I am longing to see the surface of the earth (i.e breakeven)...
