There are good leftwingers and bad leftwingers. I said as much about the rightwingers on Lindy Bills thread. The problem with the left is that they have been taking over by the hysterical types who popularized this mode of action in the womens and gay rights movement. Even there, the excesses in trying to get Larry Summer fired at Harvard and in trying to purge gays who are publicly calling for identification of AIDS carriers who dont practice safe sex, are meeting with resistance as the hysterical left commits hari kari while singing kareoke versions of 60s protest songs. Those leftists who argue against the war as not worth the gains achieved--thats ok. The cost was greater than we were led to believe and the goals more elusive. But those who can say with a straight face that dem elections in iraq dont matter or that the removal of saddam is not a good thing are just plain dumb. mike
