No one wants to see a nuclear Iran. No one wanted to see a nuclear North Korea, Israel, India or Pakistan either. That said, Israel is the main one at risk. Maybe Iran would agree not to pursue nuclear arms if we disarmed Israel - you DO KNOW that we provided Israel with nuclear technology? That they have 200-300 weapons? It doesn't get a lot of press.

It strikes me as the height of hypocrisy that we have thousands of nuclear weapons ready to go at a moments notice with advanced delivery systems, and we're telling the world they can't have any. We'd have a LOT more credibility if we had continued the process of destroying the excess nuclear weapons we built during the cold war, started during the Reagan years. Instead, the Bushies want to develop more "sophisticated" ,"usable" nuclear weapons.

Think how the Iranians feel - WE armed Israel, now we're telling them THEY can't have any. We've got no defensible moral position. A Bush international trait that's become an American international trait, to our shame.

Nuclear energy is the best way to go to minimize greenhouse gasses and fight global warming. Pebble-bed nuclear reactors are very safe in that they cannot melt down. You assume, even though boygeorge's ol' buddy bladimir says Iran is not developing nuclear weapons just nuclear energy, that Iran is making nuclear bombs. Since bush says they are and he's never been right about anything I doubt they are.
