i believe to live at villages you also need medical coverage other than hmo. The place has its own facilities. the guys that golf only go to the free courses they see no need to pay for upscale course or other memberships... my friend also mentioned they have groups of get together of all kinds.. like location you came from.. age,,, interests,, just so much going on. he has his grand children come down for month in summer to visit.. they also have organized activities for children.

just got a note from him and they are very happy there. both families tried several locations in last ten years before making up their minds.

On the other hand i have a friend who wouldn't touch the area he is outside Ft Lauderdale and feels you need to be really in south Florida to enjoy warmer weather.. but he is a snow bird.
