That story presents both sides of the gun debate in that on one hand, if there were no guns this ugliness might not have happened, but on the other hand, the handgun in this story was wielded by a good guy - unfortunately not effectively enough. Wilson needed either a laser sight or a bigger gun or better aim or all three. Keep in mind that the location was a courthouse. Who brings their gun to the courthouse? (Texans, I guess) If Wilson had been arrested going through a metal detector, the headline would have been "Gun Nut Nabbed at Courthouse," and he would have been imprisoned.
