Sorry Gloop for the misspelling. Yes indeed there is Goop on SI. Being imperialistic does not carry any parameter of time. It could be one month, one year, or who knows for how long as Rummy said. The main criteria is dominance and control. Who appointed us as the judge as who we should change and who we should let it slide (North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Russia etc). Definitely not our peace loving God. My God's Kingdom is not on this world as Jesus said to Pontius Pilate, otherwise His subjects would have taken arms to set Him free. Again, just place yourself in the other shoes. Any rationalization or excuse for violating others - regardless of race or religion - pale compared to where we place values for human lives. The longer we are in this war, the more callus we will have. For example: the country has developed callus for profanity as there was no outrage for Dick Cheney cussing to a Senator. What does a child learn? Using profanity is OK since the VP of the most powerful country in the world does it?
