At some point, maybe this year or early 2006, it might be useful to find a way to hedge energy trusts. I don't want to sell, since I think the long term is positive, and I don't want to pay the taxes, and I don't want to lose my priority if forced selling to Canadians occurs.

I was thinking about buying the prefeered stock of airlines, since that pays a good dividend, and as energy prices drop, would likely to go up in price as the airlines credit quality improves.

However, there is a significant risk of bankruptcy with airlines, so I wonder if there are other options ?
