"I think you've fallen for the appeasement approach, and before you've even received anything!"

Actually, quite a lot has been received. What is needed is some sign that the "domino effect" is working in the Middle East, and this provides it. You have the Iraqi election, followed by signs of the Israeli-Palestine situation turning the corner, leading to Syria announcing it will pull out of Lebanon, leading to this. All you do is link these events together, ignore the real possibility that none of these will lead anywhere, claim a victory and go home. The moment of accountability has passed...

So you have vindication of Bush's policies, additional ammunition for hammering opposition and justification for demanding that Democrats support the Patriot Act II, privatization of SS, drilling in the ANWR and the various measures to protect DeLay from prosecution...

The fact that he is even considering allowing multi-party election is a step in the right direction. Did you think these countries would all become Democratic over night?

Go ahead and keep denying that progress is being made in the Middle East. The evidence will keep stacking up and you'll continue to look more and more ridiculous.
