Or you can be a liberal and put your head in the sand, claim that you believe in world peace, but don't want to pay the price to achieve it. Then you can watch sweeping changes occurring the Middle East and claim that nothing has changed. You can watch as the dominos continue to fall and claim that Bush was wrong. Go ahead. You are starting to look silly.

"I think you've fallen for the appeasement approach, and before you've even received anything!"

Actually, quite a lot has been received. What is needed is some sign that the "domino effect" is working in the Middle East, and this provides it. You have the Iraqi election, followed by signs of the Israeli-Palestine situation turning the corner, leading to Syria announcing it will pull out of Lebanon, leading to this. All you do is link these events together, ignore the real possibility that none of these will lead anywhere, claim a victory and go home. The moment of accountability has passed...

So you have vindication of Bush's policies, additional ammunition for hammering opposition and justification for demanding that Democrats support the Patriot Act II, privatization of SS, drilling in the ANWR and the various measures to protect DeLay from prosecution...

Well said. History will show that this whole thing is a charade but in the meantime, it won't help us to prevent the serious damage that is about to be done here in the US.

Watch the next few years as more and more former allies oppose what we are doing one way or another like Canada just did. The US is going from yellow to orange and people like MM are oblivious.
