Somehow a whole lot of less seems like it would give you more rev than a few high pricers.

Sounds like the hospital made a mistake in its initial purchase and set-up (if what the CEO says is true) or their expenses are too high and they are trying to cover them with the scans. In either case, they are in trouble if the word gets out.

You know something? One of the best things that could happen to the system would be for hospitals to be REQUIRED to publish charges as best they could. Obviously, if a stroke occurs during a PTCA, the hospital stay will be longer and more expensive than a simple PTCA. But they could publish charges for a PTCA and the normal hospital stay.

Real charges. Not this $30K --> $6K crap.
