I didn't rule out military action because that would be a mistake. I have no idea if Iran has friendly intentions or not so to rule out military action at this point would be foolish. Would you already be ruling out military action? Do you believe Iran exhibits the kind of judgement (ie funding terrorism) that you'd like to see from a country that will soon be capable of creating a bomb? Forget the fact that Pakistan and North Korea already have them which doesn't exactly thrill me. If our leaders decide Iran is a greater threat with a nuclear device than we can afford to have would it be more prudent to act now or later in stopping that from becoming a reality? If it came down to our leaders believing that a military strike to wipe out Iran's ability to make nuclear weapons ( at least for a while ) would it be better to face them now or when they have a nuclear arsenal?

I can't answer all question my friend but believe me there are very difficult questions both ways. I suggest that you look at some of my other posts on the issue so that you can clearly see I am a man of conscience. I don't want war. I don't want a lot of things that happen in life but not wanting them and dealing with them head on as opposed to being a meek little fawn is a different story. I do believe there are just wars. It doesn't mean desired it means justified. I don't want to be the worlds police and impose our will and values around the globe but in some cases it beats the hell out of the alternative. We've made errors in the past and we'll make more as a nation and a people in the future. We are not perfect or divine - God is. Having said that I believe the decision by Russia was a mistake and a move in the wrong direction with regard to the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Most fair minded people would agree.

Sincerely,

Gloop
