All the performers and musicians I know watch it. Obviously we watch it with a critical, educated eye, capable of the brilliant analysis and profound commentary that you laymen cannot bring to the table. We say things to each other like- "he fell out of that high G." "His bel canto was just not there" "she just couldn't sustain in her head voice" Thus convincing ourselves that we are not wasting our time. I take notes. Actually, my comments last night consisted of- Scott has the personality of a turnip and I once had an Easter hat like the one Mario wore last night. I love that show.
