rock,

Let's not exagerate. The South Tower only stayed up for 55 minutes after it was grazed by the B-757-200 and most of the fuel was spilled outside the building in a spectacular fireball.

The cognoscenti believe that the South Tower had to come down at 9:58 because the handlers were panicking about the fires going out and the cover story being blown (ouch, pun intended).

I think these videos of the wonders of gravity tell us all we need to know about the destruction of the WTC Towers:

Be sure to check out the new materials there on Madrid's Windsor Tower conflagration and Jim Hoffman's refutation of the Popular Mechanics straw man arguments.

Even setting aside that you're evidently assuming that the buildings were constructed similarly: wouldn't, and shouldn't, the damage that the aircraft plunging into the building be taken into account as a differentiating factor?

I'd think so.
