<and you of course just naturally assume that those who voted to say no to the union are on the left side of the bell curve... an extreme majority of the set, voted the union down...which i think in and of itself invalidates your premise> Or they were simply intimidated to do it and therefore powerless. Have you ever heard of the role of Pinkertons in union organizing? Maybe Wal-mart isn't using them yet... perhaps just threatening with closing the store is motivation enough. I don't think it was because of the great medical, vacation and advancement opportunities offered by the company. Did you ask why the workers voted it down or care? Why did Wal-mart work so hard to keep this an inside affair without any independent review? What carrot did Wal-mart offer to stay non-union? Perhaps the same one here: money.cnn.com These are questions that remain unanswered.
