Last I heard from him, he was in Mosul (was actually in the mess hall when the explosion happened there in December). Also, he's been in Taji, Baghdad, and Fallujah.

I haven't talked to him much about the state of the people of Iraq, just the state of the troops. For one thing, they haven't been handling the insurgents well -- he said that we didn't really defeat the insurgents in Fallujah, they left to fight another day, like in Baghdad at the beginning of the war.

He also says that the American troops are getting spread more and more thinly -- to me, that's not a sign that things are getting more stable.
