They are headstrong enough to try to ram their program through anyway.
Numbers I've seen say I've earned 0.6% interest on my money in SS. I can think of NO TIME in the last 30 years when I could have sone as badly just putting the money in a savings accounts and CDs at private banks.

BTW, I own some annuities. They pay MUCH better than SS. And have floors on their interest rates that guarantee they will continue to do so.
