I agree. The world has already started to gang up on the U.S. in a number of ways. But I like what I see in the Middle East. If we come away from all this with just Afghanistan, Iraq, and Lebanon democracies, then that's 3 more than the 0 that used to be in the Middle East. So I will count that as a successful "adventure", which will continue to exert existential pressure on the despots in the region for a long time to come, WITHOUT the need for U.S. intervention.

Like I've said before, time will tell. However, I still think you are reading too much into events that have occurred to date.
