I think it is nerve-wracking enough to watch your children perform without trying to play at the same time! I totally understand that. But haven't you been playing for a very long time?

My husband has a beautiful tenor voice but has never been able to develop it because singing lessons have been way down the list of priorities. Now he wants to learn to play the banjo! Maybe I will get him a used but nice one for our wedding anniversary.

You are really fortunate to be able to pursue all the things that interest you, you and your children as well. I got Grainnette through a whole childhood of art and dance lessons, and breathed a sigh of relief. This was the one time I was thankful I only had one child, because it is all really expensive.
