I think you're lumping a bunch of things together. Code is a very specific thing. Euphemism is another thing. Then there's spin and marketing hype. And, of course, lying.

"Small stakes gambling" isn't code. No one is talking "small stakes gambling" when, withing their culture, they're really talking about playing card manufacture or showgirls.

kholt's post and mine are correct. You are attempting to redefine a term to satisfy your political agenda. It ain't gonna work. Give it up. As Reagan said "Facts are stubborn things."

I agree about gambling. States should NEVER have allowed themselves to be dragged into that cesspool. A gov't that derives its revenue from corrupt sources is corrupt.
