There are areas of North Carolina like in the mountains where I go for six months. The temperatures are cooler in the summer, the mountains are beautiful, a lot like New Hampshire.
Many N.Carolinians are building homes there for the summer.

The County of Watauga is almost sold out with high prices so the move is to Ashe County where Virginians are coming Southward to purchase property.

I sold 6 acres last Fall. Rather regret it now. It was view land and rolling pasture land great for house or whatever.
Always thought that I would put in a windmill and build an energy efficient home.

This part of the Country still has to take off. Winters are just severe and with rising utility prices it seems doubtful that there will be a real estate boom there.
