There are many extra-biblical references to Jesus; Tacitus, Josephus, Pliny the Younger etc etc. probe.org "how is Christian belief different in kind than what the Mormons believe about Joseph Smith?" To attempt to compare the book of Mormon to the Bible is no contest. Joseph Smith ripped of the KJV and invented Mormonism out of his head. Joseph Smith was a real person who taught false doctrine. How the KJV Tripped up Mormon Leaders aomin.org That's why there is not a shred of archaeological evidence to support it. No places, people or things have been found to corroborate the BOM. I know lots of Mormon people in my area and they are the nicest people you would want to meet. My disagreement with them is doctrinal. I do not believe there are many gods and I do not believe that God was once a man and that he attained godhood through obedience to his god and so on back in an eternal regression. OTOH Jesus is a historical figure and the Biblical accounts are contemporary eyewitness accounts. The people, places and things mentioned in the New Testament are verifiably true. No one but radical atheistic revisionists ever denied this until recently. Jesus died as a substitute for the sins of those who will turn away from their sins and He rose from the dead physically, to verify His claims.

The events that are purported during those times as recorded by the "gospels" that were kept by the "Church" did not occur historically. It is mythology, invention, and lies compounded and accentuated by cunning, deceit, invention, and lies. It has the substance of candy floss and the flavour of aged dung. The bible is a gross and obscene book of primitive ideas and cruel self interest. It is a book full of hate and ignorance. That any modern person could give it moral standing simply beggars belief...
