One cannot establish supremacy on a world base of any currency. The coinage is used for daily transactions within a given area as far as occupants of the area are concerned.

On the world market China has been blessing us all with cheap products. She is facing inflation and that inflation will increase inflation in the world.

When deficit levels are too high gov needs increased funds to pay down debt. In the case of the US the cost of war must be met. In the case of Germany her social structure costs are too high. Both cases demand increased funds to decrease debt loads, both budgets promote inflation or disaster.

I believe we people world are in for one heck of a round of inflation and the euro is not going to act as Atlas for much longer.

The US is not in much better shape it seems so darn stupid that we reduced taxes only to increase costs partially due to war and now we have to increase taxes somewhere in order to decrease the increasing deficit. We can attempt to eliminate social security and in doing so decrease operational costs. We can use a consumption tax to meet our gov budget requirements. Somehow we geniuses have increased our costs assuming that dollar generation would increase gov tax flow and in doing so we could decreased our taxes. Whoops!

I suppose China could unpeg and start a new fleet of dinghy's. Heaven forbid someone could add, as for lack of better choice gold would move again. However because war unlike heavy socialization is not a forever cost logically it seems the US$ should start to move up again.

About all one can do is laugh as this comedy of errors is far too easy to cry about.
