John has NEVER implied that we shouldn't go after the people who attacked us on 9/11. You continue to confuse Iraq with Al-Qaida. It is you who is confused. You have Al Qaeda confused with the more generic term "terrorist threat". As Bush made clear early on, this is not a war against Al Qaeda, nor should it be. It is a war against terrorism and those who support terrorism. This is a proper framing of the issue. By moving Iraq toward democracy (and as a result, other states in the region, as well as the disarming of Libya) we reduce the threat of terrorism. Bush and his advisers had the forsight to realize this would happen as a result of removing Saddam, they appear to be right, and you ought to be giving them credit for making YOUR WORLD a safer place. Had we merely defeated Al Qaeda, we would still have other terrorist threats and brainwashed Arab children to contend with. The Administration recognize this and acted to remove the problem at its roots. Clearly, this appears to be working well beyond anyone's expectations at this point.

No I don't. I just take a more holistic approach to problem solving than you or John seem to. When you approach a problem, you have to step back and understand all the root causes. The root causes of terrorism are manifold. They are all not due to one man named Osama. There are many bad actors and many contributing factors that all need to be tackled at once to make any headway. Yours and John's and other liberals insistence that we tackle only one issue at a time is myopic and would do nothing to solve the overall problem.
