I skimmed that 45 page reference you posted. One of the interesting highlights was that when Oil shale and Tar sands are considered together the USA and Canada, together, have the LARGEST RESOURCES OF OIL IN THE WORLD. Now isnt that something? jdn

Did you know that earlier this century there was fear our country was running out of iron. Of course that would kill the steel industry and make war nearly impossible. Iron used to be mined around the great lakes region especially in Northern Michigan. There was a real scare about this before WWII. New technology appeared making it possible to extract iron very cheaply from tannerite.
