Not really Some teachers see it as "gospel" truth, some see it as a useful theory, so well supported at least in certain instances that it verges on fact, some see it as guideline, some see it as heresy. I would suggest to you that not only do teachers view it differently but school boards and texts also tend to have variances. It's not an easy subject to teach. Adding ID in will just further muddy the waters and US kids will get even more ignorant, when compared to their peers across the globe. Just my opinion
