"That such closely united religions can have such manifestly different set of rules suggests that they are full of errors."

First, The claims of the various religions are not as similar as you suppose. Second; it does not necessarily follow that all are wrong although that is one possibility. What is indubitable, is that they cannot all be correct!

but that they don't provide a coherent doctrine and each claims to have a unique grasp of THE UNIVERSAL truth. That such closely united religions can have such manifestly different set of rules suggests that they are full of errors.

The differences are not as big as people would have you think. I believe it comes down to perspective. The more rules you create for yourself, the more rules you create for others. There are just too many rules.

Where the spirit of God is, there is liberty.

Patrick Henry said "Give me liberty or give me death". But the Christian says "Give me liberty through my death".

The problem is everyone is out for their self. Everyone is too busy focusing on the differences of others instead of seeking out similarities in order to love each other and unify the world. That is what the kingdom of God will look like. It will be a world where we embrace and seek unity in diversity.

If all you ever look for is the devil, he is all you are going to find.

To conscious people it is not even debatable; but of course you knew that...
