I've never met the Dali Lama, so couldn't comment. I've met Bernardo Bertolucci, though. He made Little Buddah, part of which was shot in Seattle. I took him, his cinematographer Vittorio Storaro and about 8 Italians from his film crew, out on my boat on Elliott Bay to scout a locaton for a shot for the movie. I don't think Bertolucci's a Buddhist, however.
