I guess because they so often report stuff that no one else does, their viewers feel they are better informed. Like when they would breathlessly report findings of chemical weapons every day during the invasion. The fact that it never happened seemed to just not make it...

So the assumption is that the main stream media is ignoring all these important stories. Which they sometimes do. Mainly because they can't get verification. So when Fox, on the stopped clock principle if nothing else, actually is vindicated, they look like they are really on top of things. For me, the Boy Who Cried Wolf is my model for Fox...
