I have a friend who was raised a Christian and he feels that the name of Christ has been dragged through the dirt by the more vocal sects. My mother is a very active Presbyterian (I went to Presbyterian church when young). I've gone to Unitarian services and was permitted to join my friend in Catholic Catechism at 8 years old. I've self-studied Eastern eastern mystic religions. What I ended up with was a highly personal religion that is an amalgam of the best of the various religions, but I don't believe it TOO strongly. Certainly, I couldn't ever consider my views the ultimate truth.

Religion can be escapist. There is a lot of good work to do here on Earth and it won't get done if we are all kneeling!
