JF, good article, bad title. The AMT is a stealthy tax increase, for sure, but calling it "Mr. Bush's" is somewhat inaccurate, since the AMT has been around for decades.

Kind of like Social Security. There's another regressive tax that the rich don't pay their "fair share" of.

I agree that the AMT system should be changed.

I also agree with Tench. Its hardly Bush's tax increase, it was passed long before he came in to office. It does however effectivly undo some, or potentially a lot of his tax cut.
