Yes John - all very true. But if the market shifts more to high mileage cars - off to Tokyo! The legacy UAW costs are an anchor that cannot be dumped.

John Q,

You have been defensive of Detroit. What do you think of today's news on GM. I think the auto stocks and their unions have a real "come to Jesus" moment coming! It will be interesting to watch! Somehow the legacy costs of the auto industry have got to be mitigated.
