Jews do not have very much influence over world events, but Israeli lobbyists have a great deal of influence over U.S. policy towards Israel.

There is nothing unusual in this. Cuban-American lobbyists have even more influence over U.S. policy towards Cuba.

Under our system of government a small but well-funded group of people can have a great deal of influence on an issue if it is an issue that the population at large doesn't particularly care about.

The key is to have money to spend. Haitian-American influence on U.S. policy towards Haiti is not very significant, on account of Haitian-Americans don't have all that much money to spend.

Here's an undocumented speculation:

-- a tribal society that transcends Nationality
-- a doctrine of the superiority of the tribe
-- a culture/religion that supports the doctrine
-- a focus on money and power as a source of "happiness" and tribal security.

which contributes to "superior performance" in the marketplace
and cupidity, envy and manipulatable targeting by "non-tribal members".

Plus, in the case of Sharon-version Israel, the application of
"Karpmann's Triangle" (Victim/Persecutor/Rescuer) in which the
Victim role (holocaust victims) is exchanged for the Persecutor role (Sharon mentality) and the Persecutor (Nazi Germany) becomes part of the potential Rescuer(EEU) and the Palestinians(and Arabs generally) drop into the role of the Victim (somewhat reluctantly, of course).

Sort of a sloppy analogy, but you get the general idea.

I don't expect anybody to agree, but you invited opinions.....

Namaste!
