Brian,

Re: Nobody likes war.

Now you have clearly identified yourself as one of the most ridiculously naive posters on SI. Lots of people like war. Some because of the illicit profits, some simply because they are sadists and enjoy murdering other humans. There was a Marine General who got in a spot of hot water last month when he related his blood-lust in public. There's plenty of Marines who loved what they did to Fallujah. That's the sickness of what we are facing.

You are naive to the point of ruining your credibility when you make silly claims that no one likes war. Ask the managers at Halliburton what they think about all the millions of dollars they are raking in. Hell, Brian, getting one of these greedheads to tell you they don't like war would be easy. They lie about everything else, why not that?

Re: It is not black and white as you seem to think.

Gawd, I just love the irony dripping from someone as naive as you coming up with a statement like that. Marvelous.

Re: Saddam killed about 20,000 people per year....was THIS peace????

I think you would have to study more history in order to be considered at to be at the level of being bird-brained. During the first Gulf War, the U.S. murdered over 200,000 Iraqis and destroyed the civilian infrastructure of Iraq. During the illegal and immoral sanctions regime (imposed unilaterally by the U.S./UK and not by the UN), the U.S. murdered somewhere between 50,000 and 150,000 innocent Iraqis per year, a figure that was acknowledged at the time by Madeleine Albright as being "an acceptable cost of our policy".

Brian, it is simply pathetic for you to be so ignorant of the real history of Iraq in the last 20 years. You really are embarrassing yourself with your child-like regurgitation of the baloney that Fox News spews into your little mind.

Nobody likes war. It is Horrible....in fact, it is terrible beyond description in its cost.

But Peace is NOT merely the cessation or absence or war. Saddam killed about 20,000 people per year....was THIS peace????

See Ray's post to you for clarification regarding these notions.

BTW, Jesus IMHO would be against nation/states themselves as they are artifical lines which separate people based purely on where they live.

Baloney. States and nations are essential to human survival and betterment. No man is an island. We need cooperation between peoples to form nations of people, as bees live cooperatively in hives and ants in colonies.

What Jesus opposed was the formation of nations for the purpose of oppression and war. He was against greed and power of one nation over another.

War is a greed centered operation, and clearly Jesus would not approve of such actions. Bush said he consulted a higher authority. He lied.
