If it were my child, I think it would be impossible.

You might find it impossible to honor his/her wishes but I think you would not deceive yourself into thinking that overriding them was right.

My wife’s Grandmother had a massive head injury and went into a comma. Doctors operated to relieve the pressure but after that they told us they had nothing more to offer us. We placed her in a hospice with comfort care only and put her fate into God’s hands. God intervened and gave her back to us. She lived another 10 happy years.

I think we did the right thing placing her in the hospice. Contrary to popular opinion, lots of people “graduate” from hospice.
