When I've drilled holes in someone's head, then I'll allow myself to be lumped with Dahmer. Till then, I'm just a well-meaning guy who occasionally has been a jerk and is not really casting stones in the sense of the Biblical verse. There are a handful of things that I'm really sorry I did. But, you know, there are thousands of people who are probably alive today, but wouldn't have been, had I not been doing my job. Am I a saint for it? NO! But, neither am I going to be lumped in a common bucket with sadistic serial killers and discard my ability to make rational judgements of character. Ain't going to happen. There is no way any God that created me would be that STUPID! I'm in his image after all.

Many years ago as a young woman, my mom (an active Presbyterian now and church elder with a personal view on Christianity having many points in common with my own philosophy) was asked by her date, if you don't believe in everlasting damnation why wouldn't you go out and kill people? The framing of the question tells you more about the person asking it than the person asked to answer, doesn't it? If THAT guy needed to believe in hell-fire to keep from killing people, then that is a GOOD thing. Maybe some people need that imagery. I don't.

"Interesting how no fire is hot enough for Dahmer but no judgment can be allowed for the ones casting the stones."

It is idiotic to think that judgment for "casting stones" (criticising, I suppose you mean) should be equivalent to how we judge the Dahmers of the world for their vile and inhuman deeds...

I COULD build a fire hot enough for Dahmer. Don't be stupid.
