France probably does not have as many environmentalists as we do. I think we know what to do with spent fuel around here, but the political costs are too great. Also, nobody wants nuclear waste travelling through their town, but that is the only way to get it underground.

I think there's a lot of nuclear waste stored over at Hanford, a couple hours drive from here. It doesn't bother me too much.

The Russians put a concrete cocoon around Chernobyl, but then they have no equivalent of environmentalists and probably not even a rudimentary EPA. I've heard it's a tourist attraction now.

The helicopter pilot that dropped all that concrete was treated for radiation near where I used to live. I think he died from it.

Iran sure as hell doesn't have the wherewithal to manage a nuclear power program, never mind nuclear weapons. They should not even think of it.
