The discussion started with someone who read an article and knew very little about wind and energy. Unfortunately some posters are unable to admit that they know little about a subject and instead would rather waste all of our time with incessant posts.

Wind energy is a simp-le idea that is difficult to harness in a profitable manner today. It can be done, but it is very expensive and you are at the whim of nature...so many days it produces nothing. A serious problem for many reasons as you can imagine.

NIMBY's are halting this effort. In Wisconsin, they are talking about flying ice off the props...(g) as the major concern. Then noise...

They do not realize that they are against environmentally sound energy programs. That is a liberal...

I've thought of that often. Bay of Fundy has tides greater than 20 ft. How about a tremendous barge linked to some leveraged mechanical generator?
