Has anyone bothered to figure out where hydrogen comes from?

The main feedstock is natural gas, which is running out as fast as oil in the U.S. No long-term future there.

Transporting the stuff from the ME in liquified form is expensive and dangerous and counterproductive if the goal is to wean ourselves from ME oil dependency.

Does anyone know how much it costs to build one safe hydrogen fueling station? It's expensive. This creates a chicken and egg problem with building a hydrogen distribution system.

Bio-diesel seems more realistic. Let Sol replace the ME.
