The company of just and righteous men is better than wealth and a rich estate.
Ægeus. Frag. 7.

Sometime the essence is forgotten, if you keep the essence in mind nothing matters, that is how I see the ordinariness of this thread and hence in world full of thousands of channels and million bloggers, I really don’t feel it matters much to the way I take things, every human mind is blessed with limitations and expanse, if we al start thinking alike, we will have no flavour left, our ability to think in our own way, to see things in dissimilar prospects and deduct dissimilar results like chalk and cheese, is what I fee it is important not to loose the sight of being obsessively destructive, my mother taught me one cardinal thing, never get obsessed with people you have disagreements, bite the bullet and move on, that is how I live my life, much as I love everyone and respect them a lot, I think those who are obsessed should be left alone, my solace is that what I write in the huge cyber space creates some ripple, enough for some to get mad and excessively obsessed, I pray for return of their cool but cannot help their blind obsession, my thread remains unmediated, and I keep attracting contrary opinion that is what all of this exercise is all about, honestly anyone who thinks some honour can be salvaged by destroying other reputations is sadly mistaken, their are no honours here here, just recollection of times gone bye, just some recollection of recent footprints left behind we human beings, the way we define them makes us so unusual, to force authoritatively to change descriptions and way we think is despicable that we can avoid by just moving on and ignoring the obsessed;

''Idea of the Day'' opening statements covers it quite well..

as eternal optimists the host welcomes all ideas, this forum belongs to everyone, lets hope that our earnest desire to make progress and eradicate extremism within our societies will be somewhat helped by small little steps that we take here.

The host understands the banal nature of these limited discussions but recognize that a little step to garner new understandings will go long way to soothe fears amongst visitors that are based on media hype and sensationalism. We try to cut through sensationalism and present a view that all of us people of this world love each other and mankind needs un-official channels of communication to reach out, ‘Idea of the day’ is a small exercise to reach out few who pass by.

No result pointed to the Dawn reports as reported by malibuca

It turns out that not only are you not able to comprehend simple English sentences, basic concepts or for that matter express yourself in a reasonably articulate manner, you also don't know how to do a simple search on the net - even after I provided you with the source of the quote.

dawn.com

Click on "Pakistan can be a model nation: US: Rice holds talks with Aziz"

The article states: "US Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice said on Wednesday that Pakistan was a pivotal country in the region that COULD BE a model for the Muslim world."

The bold font is emphasis that I added since I have to be cognizant of your stunted capacity when it comes to basic comprehension.

The reason I cannot post the actual link is that for some reason, it seems to get truncated when I post it on SI.

It is clear that your knowledge of Pakistan is rudimentary - if that - so be aware that Dawn is considered to be the premier publication in Pakistan.

Leaving aside all of the above, simple common-sense should have suggested to you that Rice is unlikely to have said that Pakistan IS a model for other Muslim nations to emulate based on the state of affairs that exists in Pakistan today.

After, my last post to you, it dawned on me that you would be incapable of making a determination whether Rice is likely to have said that Pakistan IS a model for other Muslim nations. For you to do so, makes certain assumptions.

For a start, it assumes that you have some historical and current knowledge of Pakistan. Given your various postings, it is evident that your knowledge of Pakistan is, at best, rudimentary - and I am being generous.

So I decided to list - off the top of my head - some current and historical facts pertaining to the country.

After you review these, decide for yourself whether a country with this sort of profile IS the model that we would like for other Muslim nations to follow.

Pakistan is an undemocratic country run by a general - Musharraf - who overthrew the democratically elected government.

Musharraf just reneged on his promise to give up his role as the head of the armed forces.

Pakistan has been run by various army generals during most of the years since its inception almost 60 years ago.

A brief episode of democratic rule ended when the army overthrew the government, arrested the Prime Minister, tried him on trumped up charges and then hanged him despite world wide protests.

Pakistan was one of only three countries that recognized the Taliban as Afghanistan's legitimate government. Saudi Arabia, and the UAR were the other two.

65% of the country based on a Pew Research poll support Osama bin Laden

There is widespread antagonism towards the US in all segments of Pakistani society.

In Pakistan, women are treated as chattel and "honor killings" are condoned. Basic rights of women are routinely violated.

Blasphemy laws are so broad that if anyone says some thing that is construed to insult Islam, they can be tried and if found guilty they are SENTENCED TO DEATH.

Christians and other minority religions in Pakistan are persecuted – especially through the use of the blasphemy laws.

Pakistan has been opposed to Israel since its inception.

Supreme Court decisions are ignored by the government – if the government does not agree with the ruling.

It has been responsible for more nuclear proliferation than any other country in the world. Iran and North Korea – the current concerns of the Bush Administration – received at least part of their nuclear technology from Pakistan.

Corruption is rampant in all walks of life

There is a substantial and growing radical Islamic movement in Pakistan.

Pakistan has supported terrorism against India.

Pakistan is notorious for its madrassas which raise children to hate the West in general and the US, Israel and India specifically.

The use of torture is condoned and Pakistan has been repeatedly been cited for human rights violations.

Congressional Research Services recently reported that Pakistan is probably the "most anti-American country" in the world today.

The CIA projected that it would be a failed state by 2015 based on the grave structural problems that exist.

Just in case you would like a US source for what Rice said, here is what Bloomberg reported:

March 17 (Bloomberg) -- Pakistan, a key ally in U.S.-led war on terrorism, is a pivotal country in South Asia and can be a model for the Islamic world, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said during a visit to Islamabad.

You are obviously in need of help in learning how to do a search on the net. Here is a link to help you:

googleguide.com

Very important: make sure that you click on "Novices Click Here"

The link for "experienced users" is well beyond your powers of comprehension.

Your first exercise after you have studied the guide is to find the Bloomberg link that I referred to above. If you are not successful at first, try again - we all believe that, if you focus on the task, you can do it!

Pat yourself on the back when you do succeed.
