Sometimes you can get lucky and find other things such as;
marriage licenses, military records, ships logs.

M~ Have you checked out this website for VT? There are so many different things here....

I just found a HUGE clue here about 2 months ago for F's side...I wondered what happened to a main line 3 great grandfather of his...turns out one of the County links had a small little blurb about him, saying that the 3gr had been captured by the Indians in 1780 in Royalton VT....He came back a couple of years later, and then settled in the town where I knew he died....I had NO idea he had been in Royalton....Turns out that raid was pretty famous...It was the last one in that section of VT...Wondered why he didn't fight in the American Rev, while all of the relatives around him did....His name is mentioned in a small book that another captivee wrote after he returned home .....
