He didn't ask for her to be in this situation, and he is doing the normal thing that is done all over the country when this happens.

i disagree....

instead of taking his rightful responsibility to ask for life support to be terminated when he had standing without challenge, he waited until he had won a malpractice lawsuit (only then, years later concluding she was 'gone') and then petitioned the court to act as her surrogate instead of himself, opening up the door for the court challenge from her family

imo, it was his refusal to exert his rightful authority and foisting it upon the state that has brought us to this juncture

Thats one side, the other side is her "husband" deserves a beating. He has ignored her for years, kept her in an isolated environment, even attempted to forbid her family from visitation. How can you be sure he isnt COVERING UP something? jdn

Actually, I was thinking about politics and the Republican party when is said it was really really bad. I think they are walking into a trap, set not by the democrats, but ( unintentionally) by the well meaning save Terri crowd.

If she does die, I expect congress to hold a hearing, call him, and beat up on him as a witness

Yeah, that would be a great move. Beat up on a widower that had to make one damn hard decision. That'll go over real well.

I'd like some Congressman to try and lecture me in that situation. I'd give em something for CSPAN...
