RE: "It's a tragic private matter for the family"

I think it needs to be public. Like you said, people are writing living wills now, as a result of the publicity of the case.

The real issue is 'how' it's been publicized.

Amy J

If this was your wife or daughter, would you welcome the circus?

No, of course not.....very few want this kind of publicity. Never once have I seen the man in the public spotlight........if he's like me, it must be almost terrifying for him to see the focus this case has gotten. But don't you think it plays to the heart of what is dividing this country? Isn't that why its gotten the intervention of a GOP governor and GOP congressional whip? Like Z, for years, I've tried to ignore the plight of this husband. But doesn't it behoove us to stand up and say something in his behalf? After all, the evangelicals are not ignoring the case even if you and I are.

The guy is fighting the good fight essentially alone. There is always some time in the relationship of significant others where this issue comes up. "Please.....if I become a vegetable have them pull the cord."

The parents have made him into a vulture. You saw how some people on this thread responded without even bothering to view the facts. Delay refuses to back off even though the attorneys are saying his actions are in violation of the husband's rights. Even some of his party members are suggesting he back off and yet he difies them.

IMO there are times for good Americans to sit back and be quiet. And then there are times when good Americans need to stand up and be counted. I think now is one of those latter times. FWIW.
