Well, there are some scary things going on, but if you are as worried as you say, at least you can take solace in the fact that we only have 4 more years of this. Mostly, what I'm worried about is that we have unfunded liabilities of something like $10-20 trillion for Medicare and Social Security. Then add to that the acknowledged national debt of $8 trillion and we you have gov't that owes something like $18-28 trillion. Americans have assets of something like $40 trillion, but we will have a national net liability if this profligacy continues.
