The comment was in response as to the cost of keeping a person alive. It was not meant to be derogatory. If you will read Sylvester's post it is in response to the one sentence in his letter about expenses. I was supplying the actual cost as I read it without the figures.

I guess it did sound cruel which it was never intended to be.
The cost of health care in this Country is astronomical. I like the Doctors now who charge a flat fee.. like five thousand a year and who do not use Medicare or insurance companies . You get excellent care and just as in the days when I was a child, the Dr. comes to the house with a little bag and diagnoses where possible...

If anyone is really interested in seeing how Terry's husband took a nursing course to take care of her to avoid expense. How he has death threats and has to have a guard at his home, how the lawyer who was his way back in 1996 said the parents are about money and the husband is about love and respecting his wife's wishes... it changes the complexion of things a bit.
