If she has to be killed at least make it as pleasant as we do with old dogs and serial killers.

Can't do that. The culture-of-lifers have made sure it's illegal to give people people an easy death. All we can legally do is withdraw treatment and let raw nature take its course. Or make sure no assistance in breathing or eating is effected at the getgo so that the withdrawal of it never becomes an issue. It's an ugly gap.

Ish,

If she has to be killed at least make it as pleasant as we do with old dogs and serial killers.

Then it wouldn't be natural. No one wants to be accused of Euthanizing her, so she starves.

Face it - your a religious nut, otherwise you would agree with her husband. There is no room for diverse (or as the case may be - any) thought on this issue.

The same people who make pronouncements on the Cat-scans and terri's situation probably have never read one. I get to read cat scans, mri's and pet scans of brain tumor patients regularly and plenty of them have fluid filling in (substantial) gap's, but still function normally. And yes I realize that Terri will not recover based on limited medical information. But, If she had nothing but a brain stem and fluid as conjectured - she would need more than a feeding tube.

Cat scans are a very poor indicator of brain function. Mri's give a better map, but PET scans show metabolic activity.

Whats missing in this debate are objective facts.

john

cutting off her water should be the same as the worst torture anyone has to endure even if she has only an ounce of thought left.

I suggest you visit a local "hospice." This is normal procedure. They give you pallitive relief-wet your tongue-and enough drugs to make it easy to go. She has no "ounce of thought left." That is why the courts have done what they have done.

I had two dance partners die last year. The hospital "pulled the plug" on the last day in the same way.
